About PolicyWatch
PolicyWatch is a civic-legislation tracker that brings together bill activity, committee hearings, and live legislative streams from Kansas, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Maine, and the U.S. Congress in one place. Instead of checking a dozen separate state and federal sites, you can follow what lawmakers are doing from a single homepage feed.
The site pulls from official sources — Open States, Congress.gov, state RSS feeds, and public hearing calendars — and refreshes on a regular schedule so you can see recent actions, search across jurisdictions, and filter by state or topic. Hearings, dashboards, legislator lookup, and a district map round out the tools for staying oriented during a legislative session.
PolicyWatch also highlights military- and veteran-related bills with a simple Red, Yellow, and Green impact system so you can quickly tell which measures may materially affect benefits and services versus ceremonial or general mentions. That classification guide is explained in the sections below.
PolicyWatch is a volunteer project built for transparency and ease of use. Impact labels and summaries are automated triage signals — not legal advice. Always review the full bill text and official analysis before drawing conclusions.

PolicyWatch tags legislation that affects veterans, service members, or military families with a Red, Yellow, or Green impact level. Colored cards on the homepage make it easier to spot bills that may materially change benefits, services, or rights versus ceremonial or general military mentions.
Use the filter buttons on the homepage to show all military/veterans activity, or narrow to a single impact level.
Bills that could directly affect benefits, healthcare, housing, disability ratings, or survivor support. These often involve VA programs, Title 38, GI Bill, compensation, or access to care.
Bills that adjust how veterans interact with employment, licensing, courts, or support systems — important, but usually narrower in scope than core benefit changes.
Recognition, memorials, honor resolutions, and general military mentions. Worth tracking for visibility, but typically low direct effect on benefits or services.
